About New Grain Recipes


While most people come to wheat free diets for medical reasons, there are plenty of great reasons to cook wheat or gluten free even if you don’t have to. There is a whole new world to explore out there, one that includes interesting new flavors, and healthy, delicious, fiber-rich new foods to try.

Oh, and I realize that many of the newly available flours and other ingredients are not really made from grains, but for the sake of simplicity I decided not to call this site “New Legume, Root, Seed, Nut and Grain Recipes”.

This is not a site about Celiac Disease. There are plenty of good ones out there already. This is a site about great tasting – dare I say it – gourmet food that also happens to be wheat free, or gluten free.

The easy availability of so many great gluten free ingredients is fairly recent, and new recipes, both replacements for old favorites and brand new taste treats, are coming out all the time.

I wanted to establish a place for people to share these recipes. To collaborate on recipe development and to share their explorations into a new cooking frontier.

I love to cook and bake. I love to experiment. I love to eat good food. New Grain Recipes is a coming together of these and, hopefully, a place where others who share these interests will join in.
